FAQ for  TrackIAS.in

What is the best way to revise for the UPSC exam?

Follow the 3R rule (Read, Revise, Recall). Revise NCERTs, make short notes, attempt mock tests, and revise previous years’ questions to strengthen concepts.

Divide the year into phases: first 6-8 months for covering the syllabus, next 2-3 months for revision and mock tests, and the final phase for fine-tuning weak areas and answer writing practice.

Start by reading NCERTs, newspapers, and understanding the exam syllabus. Allocate a few hours daily for study, practice answer writing, and stay consistent with current affairs.

NCERTs (Class 6-12) are the best starting point for UPSC preparation. For advanced reading, aspirants should refer to standard books like Laxmikanth for Polity, Spectrum for Modern History, and Ramesh Singh for Economics.

Yes, many aspirants crack UPSC without coaching by following a disciplined self-study plan. With quality study materials, online resources, and mock tests, you can effectively prepare on your own.

TrackIAS offers structured courses, study materials, mentorship, and test series designed for beginners. It simplifies UPSC preparation with well-researched strategies and expert guidance.

I joined Track IAS while still in my first year, and that early start gave me an edge. The classes are easy to follow, and even topics like Polity and Economy feel doable now. Totally worth it!
